Dave Sumner has revealed the first details of a career-spanning release, which is being preceded by three 12-inches.
Function will release a two-disc retrospective called Recompiled: Various Works & Pseudonyms 1995-2012 early next year.
The 28-track collection promises to bring together classic and rare material from Dave Sumner’s archives. It’s being preceded by three separate 12-inches. First was August’s VEX / DMO; second is the three-track Synewave Reissues Part I: 1995-97, due out October 27th; and finally there’s Recompiled | Extractions, which lands on November 17th. The three 12-inches and the compilation will all be issued through Sumner’s revamped label, Infrastructure New York.
Synewave Reissues Part I: 1995-97 gathers material from two EPs—F(Q): Function of Bandwidth and F(C): Function Of A Constant—with the material edited and extended by label partner Ed Davenport, AKA Inland. Recompiled | Extractions comprises early Infrastructure cuts (“Isolate” and “Montage”) as well a previously unreleased version of the Sandwell District-era “Immolare” and 2011’s “Descending.”
